Revamped Transamerica vendor management program, reducing fees from 30% to 20%. Group had more than 500 vendor agreements on file, all individually written and managed by line staff. Instituted review program, focusing on high volume vendors. Leveraged vendors’ “preferred” status, re-negotiating contracts to obtain fee discounts and standardized contracts. Divested low volume vendors. Reduced average fees, saving $5K per vendor transaction.
